My book, THE CHASE, recently published by Soul Mate Publishing, is a women in jeopardy, survival story located in a Colorado Wilderness area. The time of year is the middle of September. Four women start out on a backpacking trip in miserable weather, but are certain the weather will improves. The first night in camp, they are attacked by four escaped convicts taking the same trail in the hopes they will avoid captures.
The lives of the women are in danger because they can identify the men. They must escape and climb over an eleven thousand foot pass to reach safety. The weather does not change. Will they survive a raging blizzard without adequate survival gear?
When I read my synopsis to a group of writers, I was told the story was not believable. I knew it was. The story is based on incidents I have read about. In the eastern mountains of the U.S. four women were attacked by four men and had to run for their lives.
